Beach Mischief

We had a great family vacation last week.  And in great puppy fashion mischief was had.

Tucker had a great time digging in the sand. And in the evenings he became a great ghost crab hunter.

Tucker wasn't to thrilled with the ocean (got better by the end of the week), but with the crabs involved that was a different story.  He did go in when I wasn't videoing (of course!).

We are joining the Monday Mischief Blog Hop hosted by  SnoopyAlfie and My Brown Newfies.

Catching Up

Seems like all I have had time for over the past several weeks is the picture posts that don't require much time (puppies consume a lot of time!).  Its not a bad thing, but some things falter because of it.

We're getting ready for our yearly vacation to the beach next week.  Really looking forward to it.  This year we have not 1 but 2 new members of our family getting to go, Tucker & Madalynn.

We're also getting to share our "island" with my mother-in-law this year.  Looking forward to showing her all that Hatteras has to offer.  Its always fun to take people down there that has never been or its been a really, really long time (which is her case).

With the heat we haven't been hitting the woods as much as I would like (that and finding the snake last month ... YIKES!).  We did get an early morning walk in this weekend and were able to turn the dogs loose for a bit to play and chase each other.

Always a good sign when the tongue is hanging low!
Was finally able to find time to hit the trails with Laura this week (had been far to long).  Tucker is still to little to partake in that so its was just Teach and his brothers.

Riding Dakota
Afterwards Laura wanted to take a horse down to the ring to practice some obstacles in preparation of a judged trail ride coming up.  I walked Tucker down to see what he thought of the horse and also to let him run some energy off.

Love how happy he looks with his tail up ... you can just see him prancing down the road.

"Hey ... what is she doing?"

"Oh ... well that's interesting"

"Quick this way!"

"See ... I can pose on a block too"

"Let's play!"
That's a quick look at what's been going on with us since I've been sort of MIA the past few weeks.

Monday Mischief: Vacation Recap in Photos

Two weeks ago Teach and family took our annual beach vacation at the Outer Banks in North Carolina.  We stay in Hatteras Village, which for those who have never been, the Village is as far as you can drive on Route 12 before having to take a ferry to the next Island (Ocracoke).  This was Teach's second trip to the ocean and I think he enjoyed it as much as we did.

After a long drive happy to be out of the car
This year we did stay in a different house in a different area than normal (about 1/2 mile up the beach from our normal location).  I have to say the beach was much better there and there was a ton of dogs around.  Was fun to see other families enjoying vacation with their 4-legged family members.

Taking Teach out on the beach (I rhymed ... LOL!) was like walking a celebrity.  People are always stopping and asking about him and how beautiful/unusual he is.  They want to know what breed and so on.  One family had two little boys who became his fan club and yelled and cheered at him all week when they saw him.  Of course they loved his name (he was named after Edward Teach, Blackbeard, who was well known along the Outer Banks and was supposedly killed off the coast of Ocracoke).

Teach went for walks in the morning and evening.  The middle of the day was to hot for a dog with a black coat so he chilled in the house with his Aunt Roxy.  He seemed content with that.  His favorite activities towards the end of the week was ridding the beach of those pesky laughing gulls and their little friends.  He was run and herd them off ... for them to only land a little bit ahead of him ... and the cycle continued.

I took so many pictures, as usual, its hard to figure out which ones to share.  Hope you enjoy the ones I picked!!
