Last Thursday evening he started limping again (had been doing really well after the vet visit last Saturday and starting his medication) so I decided to pull him from the Rally Trial Friday evening. I was bummed, but knew that there were would be more trials. I just need a sound pooch.
Being "calm" really isn't in Teach's vocabulary. Overall, though, he has been doing fairly well with it. A few moments of hyper-ness with me telling him to calm down.
The weather (hopefully) is taking a turn towards spring which means hiking time so I really hope my hiking partner is better. I've been out the past few weekends without him and its just not the same.
I do have to tell you that even though we missed the show Friday evening I had a good day of skiing at our local ski resort. Why I wait till the end of the season to go is beyond me because I always have a great time. (the resort is literally 20 minutes from my house) This time around I talked my husband into giving it a try. I'm proud of him ... he did do very well for his first time out. We met up with some coworkers and skied for about 4 hours. By the time we left it was getting really icy so timing was perfect. Earlier in the day conditions were excellent. I manage to snap a few pictures of Randy heading down the hill for the first time.
I've been thinking about doing the A-Z Blogger Challenge next month, but can't seem to pull the plug and link up with it. Coming up with 26 days of posts is kind of daunting for me!!! So ... I'm still debating it ... and even enlisting the help from my husband who can be creative.
Thanks to Heart Like a Dog & 2 Brown Dawgs for hosting another edition of Barks & Bytes.
I agree, the A-Z challenge sounds overwhelming. I sure hope your hiking buddy is ready when the time comes. We love hiking too.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a beautiful day to ski!
ReplyDeleteI read back to see what was up with the foot. Thunder had a tendon strain summer before last from running hunt tests and blasting into ponds that were too shallow. We tried anti-inflammatories and pain meds but it would get better and then come back. We finally put a cast on it to let it heal completely. He missed the entire hunting season that Fall. He was not happy so I know how frustrating it can be. I hope Teach is better soon with minimal rest.
Thanks so much for joining The Barks and Bytes hop!
It's great to be adventurous and pick up something new... skiing is probably something we will never pick up in our lifetime... just the wrong geography for it. I hope teach gets better in time for your hiking trips! ;)
ReplyDeleteYour husband did great! I have only gone skiing once while on vacation and most our pictures are of me on the ground.
ReplyDeleteHope Teach's foot is better soon so you have a hiking partner back this spring.
I've only ever going skiing twice and I didn't like it at all. LOL
ReplyDeleteGlad Teach is feeling better!! And thanks for joining the blog hop!
