FitDog Friday: Winter Storm Workouts

We have been so fortunate in our area with a very mild winter ... up until this week.  And now we got hit with two winter storms in a row.  While I thought it was dumb that the weather channel name these storms it makes it easy to label the photo albums with their names.  LOL!

So even though we were pretty much snowed in for almost a week I tried to get the dogs out several times a day for a walk around the house and across the road into the woods.  Now that was a work out ... its straight down over the hill and once you're down by the creek you can't even see the road.

I really would have liked to get out hiking, but it just wasn't in the cards this past week/weekend so we made the best of what we have here.  While it wasn't much, every little bit counts.  I hope to get out today and do some real hiking before more winter weather visits us.  In the meantime enjoy our pictures below from our neighborhood.

Its hard work coming through the deep snow.

Wasn't too cold to take a dip in the water, silly puppy!

  1. Wow - guess you got paid back for that mild winter. Some great shots of the gang romping in the snow - that's great exercise for them too - the extra resistance of the snow. Stay warm.

  3. Bounding through the snow is a great workout for humans and pups. We get worn out much quicker too!

Love that stream in the snow! Oh what fun y'all look like you are having! If that isn't a workout, I don't know what is!

  6. The snow looks so pretty and the dogs do too! I guess it's a lot nicer to look at than it is to shovel it! Looks like the pups are having a great time.
