Meet the Blogger ... The Human behind the Dog

Two posts in one day???  I know ... right.

I realized this morning that today was a special Blog Hop called Meet the Blogger.  This is being hosted by several of our favorite bloggers so we decided to join in.  Thanks to all the hosts!!!!  Sometimes you need a little "push" to get out there and make yourself more known.

Onto the rules.  You have to post a current picture of yourself for everyone to see and also answer at least 5 questions listed below (more if you like).  Knowing how I am I'll go with the easy questions.

I present to you ... myself, Rebecca (with Teach, of course):

Hiking trip to Monongahela National Forest in October
Randy had the camera for this picture ... which is rare.  I'm not one to have my picture made unless I'm on a horse.

Dakota showing off his skills
So now to the questions that I picked.

What's your favorite non-animal related book?

This is a hard one for me because I read A LOT, like I'm always reading something.  Currently I'm reading Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove series which is wonderful.  But I also love the Stephanie Plum Series and the Harry Potter series (and of course the Mrs. Murphy Series but that is animal related) and anything by Nicholas Sparks.  But if I had to pick a favorite book ... just one ... I can't do it ... way to may to pick just one.  Moving on...

What's your favorite non-animal related movie?

This one is pretty easy for me ... Pirates of the Caribbean (preferably the first one but the rest were good too).  I could watch the first one over and over again ... LOL!!!

Who's your favorite actor?

Along with the Pirate's theme ... Johnny Depp.  There is just something about him in any movie he does.

What's one thing you have to do every day?

Go for a walk.  Where I work I'm lucky enough to get 2 15 minute breaks so can get out of the office and go for a walk (this is great for my sanity!).  On the weekends those walks are more like hikes with Teach and sometimes Randy when the weather is right for him.

What do you wish you were more skilled at?

I wish I didn't get so nervous at dog shows so Teach could really shine like I know he is capable of.  He really feeds off my nervous vibes, poor guy!!

These next two questions I picked can be grouped together, I think, at least for me:
What do you do in your free time & Other than blogging, what are three things you do that bring you joy?

Hiking, horse back riding and reading.

If you didn't have your current pets, what pet would you choose to have?

I've always wanted a horse (even though I'm very fortunate to be best friends with someone who lets me ride her many horses about any time I want) so I would say that a horse would be my choice.  If I can't have a horse I would say another Collie or a Corgi.  The Collie breed has really won me over, but I'll always love a Corgi.

Well I think that gives everyone a good start as to who is behind the "curtain".  Makes me kinda feel like the "Great Powerful Oz!"  HAHA!!

Thanks again to the hosts of this blog hop.  There are quite a few of them.  I think this was a wonderful idea and a lot of fun to read everyone else's blogs to get to know them better.

  2. You are the third or fourth person to mention the Evanovich books! I did answer that question because I could never pick just one...but I, too, have enjoyed that series. And Johnny Depp is a wonderful actor!

  7. Horses are a lot of work, I've seen that first hand. And have always been told the cheapest part about owning a horse is buying one. Its all the expenses after that get you.

  12. I could have written my whole post about books that I like or hiking! lol I grew up with horses and while I sometimes miss them, I don't miss all the work that went into their upkeep.

And I love Johnny and Pirates, too! :)

  13. Johnny Depp was also a good Indian in the Lone Ranger movie. I hear they are making another Pirate movie, but none are as good as the first.

  14. I'm with you on Harry Potter!! After that book series ended I kept searching for another series that was just as good and I have found good ones but nothing is going to compare.

  15. I thought the book question would be easy until I really started thinking about the books I've read. Horses are a lot of work and expensive (hence why I don't have one right now!).

  20. It's so nice to finally meet you Rebecca. I love the Collie breed too. I also love Corgis. I was a pet sitter once and had a client that was a Corgi named Mary Kisses. Always loved that name. :)

I am so glad to finally meet you! I've always loved your pictures of the most handsome Teach. I now know why he is so good about posing for pictures! He does shows! What a handsome boy he is. The only other smooth coat Collie I know is Finn. My friend Nancy has had him for years. Look up GoodDogz on FB and you can see him. :)

  21. It was a lot of fun to take a peek behind the curtain of everyone!! Never would had thought of myself as a bookworm until you start asking me about what is my favorite book ... way to many.

  22. Thank you!! I started on Debbie Macomber a few months ago (beforen the Cedar Cove series was starting on Hallmark) and fell in love with the books. Just a good, clean story.

  23. Mary Kisses is such a cute name!! I will look your friend up on FB. You don't see many Smooths around. There is a t-shirt out there that I want to get that says "I'm not a Greyhound or a German Shepherd and no I'm not shaved. I'm a Smooth Collie". We get those questions ALL the time. Its funny!!

  24. Hey Rebecca! It's so good to see you!! Thanks for joining the blog hop, it sure was a lot of fun.

I was going to say Johnny Depp too but then I thought....hmmm I've really only seen him in Pirates and the Tourist, so I can't really claim he's my favorite. I skipped the question. LOL But I could watch Pirates over and over again myself!
